Hayden marquee effort given $500

— The Hayden Chamber of Commerce has donated $500 to the high school booster club’s drive to purchase a marquee for Tigers’ events.

“This is a very worthwhile cause, and something we need to donate to because the chamber will also use it,” said chamber President Karen Fox.

The booster club is now $2,200 shy of the $8,500 needed to purchase a marquee that would be placed on the outside of the high school.

“People have been very generous, we just still don’t have enough money. We have enough to order materials, but not for the labor involved,” said Teena Ray, club president.

The marquee will be able to display five to six different events at one time, and the club hopes to have it up and running by mid-summer or early fall, Ray said.

The booster club plans on continuing with fund-raisers. It will be providing a concession stand at the Triple Crown games in Hayden this summer.

To make a donation to the booster’s marquee fund, make checks payable to Hayden Booster Club, and mail them to PO Box 1197, Hayden, CO, 81639.
