Free consultations for age-related vision loss will be offered at noon Thursday at the American Legion Hall. Call 736-2412.

Skate park celebration

There will be a pizza party celebrating the new half-pipe at the Hayden Skate Board Park across from the Routt County Fairgrounds. The party will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. The party is sponsored by the Hayden Recreation Department.

Planning forum

“Defining Hayden’s Future Alternatives,” a strategic planning forum, will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Aug. 26 at the Hayden Town Hall. It is the third in a series hosted by the Boulder-based Winston Associates planning firm to validate the work on the Hayden Comprehensive Plan utilizing CommunityViz.

Women’s self-defense

A women’s self-defense seminar will be from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 28 in the Hayden High School wrestling room. The class, sponsored by the Hayden Recreation Department, costs $32. Class size is limited to 20 participants. To register, call instructor JD Paul at 276-7242.

Bike helmets needed

The town of Hayden needs children’s bike helmets. Anyone wishing to donated a children’s size or small adult helmet may drop them off between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays at Hayden Town Hall.

Alanon meetings

A new Alanon group in Hayden is meeting at 10 a.m. Saturdays at the Congregational Church, 202 E. Jefferson Ave. Call 846-0601.
