Competing in its last game before the holiday break, Hayden boys basketball invited North Park to Routt County on Friday, Dec. 16.

It was a back and forth affair between the two teams. The Tigers held the halftime advantage but the visiting Wildcats stormed back in the third quarter to lead by three heading into the fourth.

It was Hayden that would pull off the narrow 40-39 victory in a game that came down to the final possession. The Tigers were strong on defense, holding North Park to a 24% field goal percentage.

Hayden now sits with a 2-4 record on the season and will be able to utilize the three-week break to rest up and prepare for the second half of the season. The team will next matchup on the road against Baggs on Jan. 5.
