Happy Election Day! Here’s what you need to know

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — Election Day, the Super Bowl of journalism, is finally here. And there’s reason to celebrate: No more political ads.

As newsrooms across the country make their traditional pizza orders, voters have until 7 p.m. to drop off their ballots or head to one of Routt County’s three polling places.

As of Monday afternoon, 9,741 voters, or 56 percent of Routt County’s 17,415 active registered voters, had cast their ballots. That’s in line with past midterm election voter turnout in Routt County, which has ranged from 56 to 72 percent over the past two decades.

Midterm elections are even-year, non-presidential elections in which voters elect one-third of senators and all representatives.

Head to SteamboatPilot.com/election for information about candidates and ballot issues as well as other voting resources.
