Colorado Mountain College offers free classes for adult learners and GED preparation to help students improve in reading, writing and math. Classes meet from 6 to 8 p.m. in Willett Hall, Room 300. Call 870-4542.

The city of Steamboat Springs hosts adult open-gym volleyball from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Mondays through mid-April at the middle school gymnasium. Cost is $3.

Colorado Mountain College is hosting drop-in, open-gym basketball from 8 to 9 p.m. in the Bristol Gym. Free with student ID or $1 without. Call 870-4479.

A Water Focus Group Meeting scheduled for Monday has been cancelled. The next scheduled meeting is at 8 p.m. Dec. 1 in Centennial Hall, rooms 113 and 114.


The annual Veterans’ Day breakfast is from 6 to 8:30 a.m. at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, 924 Lincoln Ave. The meal is free, but donations are accepted.

The Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club Ski Ball and Auction begins at 6 p.m. Friday at the Steamboat Grand Resort Hotel. Reservations are $125 per person or 10-person tables for $1,500. Reservations must be made by Wednesday by calling 879-0695, Ext. 116.
