n Steamboat Toastmasters, a public-speaking club, meets from noon to 1 p.m. in the Alpenglow Room at Colorado Mountain College.


n A two-day avalanche seminar begins at 9 a.m. at Steamboat Lake State Park. The course runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and is a combination of classwork and fieldwork taught by Colorado Mountain College Outdoors Studies Instructor John Saunders. n The Hayden Recreation Board sponsors a free ice skating party at noon at the ice skating rink in Hayden Town Park. Hot dogs, drinks and cookies will be available at the American Legion Hall.
