Hahns Peak hike cancelled; barbecue still on

Hahn's Peak hike. @sflynhgh

— The Hahns Peak hike, which was scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, has been cancelled due to bad weather resulting in muddy trails. The hike will be rescheduled for a later date.

The free barbecue from 3 to 5 p.m. at Steamboat Lake State Park Visitors Center will still be held. Pulled pork, slaw, beans and banana pudding from Moe’s Bar B Que will be served, and those who attend will receive a special gift.

The event is being held to celebrate the restoration of the Hahns Peak fire lookout.
