‘Girls night’ event set for Sunday at Steamboat Fit

Women of all ages are encouraged to get with their daughters, granddaughters and girlfriends for Layali Banat — Arabic for “girls night” — on Sunday, Sept. 25, hosted by Steamboat Fit.

According to event organizers, the night will focus on the rich dance traditions of the Arab world, as women enjoy a short dance lesson and a performance before an open dance to popular Arabic tunes.

Mint tea, lemonade and water will be provided. Attendees are also encouraged to bring a snack to share, and there will be options to participate in body art and explore dancing with some traditional Arabic clothing.

Layali Banat will run from 4-6:30 p.m. at 385 Anglers Drive, Suite D and there will be a $10 suggested donation. The event is donation-based, and all proceeds will go to the Steamboat Dance Theatre, which supports dance and creativity in Routt County.
