Girls lacrosse falls at Eagle Valley

Becky Brown had three goals for the Steamboat Springs High School girls lacrosse team, but the Sailors struggled on the road, falling to Eagle Valley, 21-6.

“We had hoped it would be closer,” Steamboat coach Betsy Frick said. “Eagle Valley is significantly better than last year. Both teams were very young.”

Ellie Crouch, Kaelyn Kauffmann and Cassett Yeager all also each scored one goal while Summer Dorr had 15 saves for the squad.

The Sailors, 0-3, next play today on the road against Telluride. Steamboat’s Tuesday game against St. Mary’s Academy has been cancelled, so after the Telluride trip it will next play at home March 30 against Battle Mountain.
