Girl hoopers head to finals

Eric Rineer

— Jennifer Weber and Bayli Stillwell hooked up for 23 points on Friday night, and Emily Hines anchored the Sailors’ defense, as Steamboat Springs rolled to a 58-20 victory over West Grand.

The victory, which was the Sailors’ season opener, advances the team to the championship round of the Roaring Fork Tourney being held in Carbondale.

Coach Bruce Alston’s Sailors earned a date against either the Glenwood Demons or Roaring Fork Rams, who met last night.

Game time for the tourney championship is 5:30 p.m. today.
