  • Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club needs volunteers for the Nordic Combined Continental Cup at Howelsen Hill December 14 to 16.   • Routt County United Way is organizing bell ringing over the holidays to raise money for health and crisis service programs in Routt County. This is a great opportunity for families or groups to spread cheer and raise money for the community. Call 970-879-5605 or email amber@routtcountyunitedway.org to get involved.
  • LiftUp Routt County has opportunities to volunteer in the food bank, donation center and thrift store. The tasks range from organizing products, assisting customers, sorting donations and picking up produce. Email volunteer@liftuprc.org to volunteer.
  • Yampatika needs volunteers to support the naturalist outdoor education programs No experience or environmental credentials are required. Volunteer training is provided, and volunteer sign ups can be found on yampatika.org.
  • Yampa Valley Sustainability Council and a graduate student from Western State Colorado University are seeking households within Routt County to participate in a food waste study to help guide feasibility of an industrial compost facility. Participants are asked to track their food waste for one week. Each residential participant will receive a City Market gift card. Email cameron.poole@western.edu or call 970-871-9299 if interested.

  • Boys and Girls Club of Steamboat is consistently in need of  energetic individuals who wish to devote time to working with children by volunteering with various after school programs.   • Integrated Community needs volunteer study friends and English tutors for English learners of all ages. Contact Jerry at educate@ciiccolorado.org or stop by 443 Oak St.
  • Young Tracks Preschools & Childcare Center needs volunteers to help with interior facility cleaning. Quarterly deep cleaning includes scrubbing walls, chairs and tables. This can be a group project for up to six people and is suitable for youth and adult volunteers. Call Kim at 970-879-5790.
  • Yampa Valley Autism Program needs volunteers for their GrowDome community cultivation project. This youth-lead program will be running year round, so they would love some volunteers for the winter. Call Lisa at 970-846-1519 to get involved.
