From the Pilot archives: Steamboat Laundry circa early 1900s
Women work at the Steamboat Laundry, circa the early 1900s. This photo was republished in the Steamboat Pilot on Sept. 10, 1970, with the caption, “They ironed out their problems: This scene inside the Steamboat Laundry more than a half century ago shows women workers at the large mangle. Chloa Kline, front left, was co-owner, with her husband, of the establishment.” The Steamboat Laundry is now home to The Laundry restaurant at 127 11th St.
