Friends of Hayden Library funds improvements

Brigitt Peckham and her pal, Liberty, spend some quality time at the Hayden Public Library.

Friends of the Hayden Library recently purchased new items to enhance the Hayden Public Library's ability to serve the community, including an outdoor bulletin board mounted near the library's front door, which is available for community notices, advertisements, news and more. The library encourages residents to stop by or email notices they would like included on the board.

The group also purchased a 50-inch smart television to be used for library programs and groups and had a large photograph of the first Routt County Fair framed by the Hayden Frame and Mat shop.

Friends of the Hayden Library president Brigitt Peckham has been instrumental in keeping the funds coming in with various fundraisers.

The Friends is also sponsoring local talks, a DVD presentation of the Hayden Centennial Speakers' program, bake sales, a hand crochet basket giveaway and the free "Seed Library."

The group meets at 1 p.m. the first Friday of each month at the Hayden Public Library, and members encourage the community to join them in support of their library.
