Fresh Air Friday offers free state park admission Nov. 23

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — Colorado Parks and Wildlife is renewing its tradition of opening its parks to free entry on the day after Thanksgiving with Fresh Air Friday on Nov. 23 offering free admission to Colorado’s 41 state parks.

Steamboat Lake will be celebrating Fresh Air Friday with hot drinks and snacks at the visitor center all day, and there will be a guided hike at 1 p.m.

“There’s no denying how grateful we as Coloradans are for our outdoor way of life,” Parks and Wildlife Director Bob Broscheid was quoted as saying in a news release. “So instead of spending the day after Thanksgiving surrounded by crowds and hunting for deals, we hope people will choose to get their friends and families outside to be surrounded by nature instead.”
