Free Summer Concert Series announces 2018 lineup additions

The New Orleans group Galactic will headline the first Free Summer Concert Series 2018 show June 30.

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — The final addition to the Steamboat Springs Free Summer Concert Series’ 2018 lineup was announced Monday.

The two main headliners for this season include Galactic, on June 30, and The Motet, on Sept. 2

The New Orleans funk band Galactic includes Ben Ellman, Robert Mercurio, Stanton Moore, Jeff Raines and Rich Vogel and is known for pushing artistic boundaries, both on the road and in the studio.

With infectiously groovy tracks and its new lead vocalist, Lyle Divinsky, The Motet is known for fusing fiery funk and soul into a lineup of catchy tunes. Other members include Dave Watts on drums, Joey Porter on keyboards, Garrett Sayers on bass, Ryan Jalbert on guitar, Parris Fleming on trumpet and Drew Sayers on saxophone.

The first show of this year’s Free Summer Concert Series will kickoff June 30, with gates opening at 5:30 p.m. Concerts beginning with an opening band, followed by the main act.
