Free city bus to switch to summer schedule Monday

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — Steamboat Springs Transit will start its summer schedule Monday, April 15.

Service on the Red Line, which runs between west Steamboat and Gondola Transit Center, and the Green Line, which services condos in the mountain area, begins at about 6:40 a.m. and offers 20-minute stops throughout the day.

Starting at 8 p.m., the Night Line departs Stockbridge Transit Center every 30 minutes with the last bus of the evening departing Stockbridge at 11 p.m. and arriving at Gondola Transit Center at 11:35 p.m. Night condo service starts from Gondola Transit Center at 8:14 p.m. and runs every 30 minutes. The last condo loop bus heads out at 11:14 p.m.

Also starting early next week, portions of the Green Line will be impacted by construction at the Walton Creek/Deer Creek stop. After the Mustang Run stop, buses will continue down Whistler Road to a temporary stop at Athens Plaza. Buses then will turn left onto Walton Creek Road and use a temporary stop placed at Owl Hoot Trail.

Regional bus service between Steamboat Springs and Craig also makes a transition during summer, departing Craig at about 5:50 and 6:50 a.m.
