Franks walks away with 4-0 record

— Following a two-day road trip Friday and Saturday, Sailors tennis player Meagan Franks returned home with a 4-0 record.

Franks, a senior, was the only player on the Steamboat girls tennis team who walked away with a perfect record after competing in a pair of double-headers.

She is now 8-1 in dual matches for the season.

Steamboat played Glenwood Springs and Aspen Friday before taking on Montrose and Roaring Fork Saturday.

The Sailors picked up two wins, which improved their record to 7-2 in dual matches.

Steamboat defeated Aspen, 5-2, before following with a 7-0 victory over Roaring Fork.

Steamboat was defeated by Glenwood Springs and Montrose by identical scores of 4-3.

Allison Griffing (No. 1 singles) and Kim Heckbert (No. 3 singles) both went 3-1 over the weekend. Griffing and Heckbert both improved to 8-1 in dual matches.

Tiffany McGinn and Tara Weiss (No. 2 doubles) also recorded three wins during the road trip. The No. 2 doubles partners are now 8-1 on the year.

Stephanie Kammerer and Marissa Bucci scored three wins to improve to 5-2 in the No. 4 doubles slot.
