Four candidates apply for vacant Steamboat Springs School Board seat

— Four candidates have applied for the Steamboat Springs School Board’s lone vacancy, and by the end of the day Thursday, the board will again be operating at full strength.

Chris Johnson, Tami Havener, Sherri Sweers and Kim Schulz all submitted their applications of interest for the open board seat by the noon Monday deadline.

The four candidates will be interviewed by the School Board during its Thursday’s special board meeting, which begins at 5:30 p.m. The first item on the agenda will be a discussion regarding the proposed field house at Steamboat Springs Middle School followed by school board interviews.

The school board has been operating with just four members since former president and three-year board member Rebecca Williams resigned June 16.

An article with more information about each of the four candidates will be published in Wednesday’s newspaper.
