Fort Collins man accepts post as assistant county manager

Steamboat Springs — Dan Weinheimer, the current legislative policy manager for the city manager in Fort Collins, has accepted the new position of assistant county manager for Routt County and will begin his duties June 6, County Manager Tom Sullivan said Monday.
Sullivan is proposing to set Weinheimer's salary at $113,360, step five of the salary scale, pending the approval of the Board of County Commissioners on May 3.
Weinheimer has been with the city of Fort Collins since January 2012. His responsibilities there included oversight of capital projects, as well as researching oil and gas industry policies and railroad crossings.
Before taking his position in Fort Collins, he worked for the cities of San Marcos and Carlsbad, California. He earned an undergraduate degree in history and sociology, and a master's degree in public administration, both from the University of Southern California.
