Focus group sought for new Steamboat fire station location

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — The city of Steamboat Springs is looking for people who are interested in participating in a focus group to provide input on proposed locations for a new Steamboat Springs fire station.

As part of the site selection process, the group will provide perspectives and insights to a professional working committee tasked with recommending a new fire station location to the Steamboat Springs City Council. It is expected the focus group will meet two to three times throughout the next four months.

Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue currently uses the downtown fire station, at Ninth and Yampa streets, and the Ambulance Barn, between Ninth and 10th streets on Yampa. The proposed station would primarily serve the downtown area.

Those interested in participating in the focus group should send a letter of interest to Deputy Fire Chief Chuck Cerasoli at by 5 p.m. Sept. 4.
