Flag stolen from North Routt fire station
Steamboat Springs — The North Routt Fire Protection District is hoping for the safe return of a flag that recently was stolen from their fire station in Clark.
Fire Chief Mike Swinsick said the department’s red flag was stolen sometime Wednesday night or Thursday evening. The $40 flag was new and had been hanging for about six weeks.
“Kind of low,” Swinsick said.
A similar flag also had been purchased for the fire station near Steamboat Lake State Park.
Whoever lowered and stole the flag from the pole left the Colorado flag and the American flag.
Anyone with information about the stolen flag can call Routt County Crime Stoppers at 970-870-6226.
