Fernon Kumke (1911-2004)

Former Steamboat Springs resident Fernon Kumke passed away April 4, 2004, in Brush. He was 92.

Fernon was born Nov. 21, 1911, in Campbell, Neb., to Henry and Lilly Kumke.

He married Estella Lucero on March 4, 1932, in Steamboat, where he worked as an electrician.

Fernon was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Morgan. He enjoyed fishing and rock polishing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, one brother, two sisters and his parents.

Fernon is survived by one sister, Beth Davis of Phoenix, Ariz.

A graveside service was held in April at Riverside Cemetery in Fort Morgan. Memorial donations may be made to the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush.
