Enjoy a free guided walking tour of the Yampa River Botanic Park led by board members and volunteers. Learn about the history of the Botanic Park and the plants that thrive in the Yampa Valley. Participation is limited. You must preregister at: signup.zone/yrbp-programs Walk-ups are also welcome if there is space available. Meet at the Main Gate on the Botanic Walk.

A free 1.5-hour sketch-a-bird workshop taught by local artist Leslie Lovejoy with Nature’s Educators’ live birds. The feathered models for the morning will be chosen from Nature’s Educators’ live birds. The session also includes Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s Sandhill Crane taxidermy. Sketching supplies provided by the library and Steamboat Art Museum.

Join local historian Marianne Capra for the walking tour to explore the heart of historical downtown — architecture, artifact, infrastructure and art — to see the rise of the marketplace. Visit the original town square, power plant, and jail/courthouse. Meet at Carl Howelsen statue.

Come tour the Farmstead — Go out into the hay fields to see grazing sheep, see their poultry and hog productions, and glance at the gardens that use season-extension to keep veggies growing at our high altitude. There will also be a pop-up farmstand with a chance to buy meat, eggs, and veggies straight from the source.

The Historical Society of Oak Creek & Phippsburg is pleased to offer free bus tours to visit the historic mine sites alone Highway 131. Paul Bonnifield will share history of the mine areas and the activity between the early 1900s to 1950s. Meet at The Station, across the street from the Tracks & Trails Museum.
