Errol Clay Kirby: 1961-2004

Longtime Routt County resident Errol Clay Kirby passed away Oct. 18, 2004, in Oak Creek. He was 43.

Clay was born Feb. 3, 1961, in Kremmling to Howard and Ramona Kirby. He grew up in Toponas and attended school in the South Routt School District.

Clay loved sports, especially wrestling, in which he participated throughout high school.

After graduating from high school, Clay hung and finished drywall for Manuel Borroel.

Clay was an avid Denver Broncos fan and watched many games with his brother, Kerry, at old Mile High Stadium. Sundays during football season were days for donning his “lucky” Broncos shirts and socks.

He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.

Clay is survived by his wife, Sherry; their son, Louden; his parents; three brothers, Randy Kirby of Toponas, Kerry and his wife, Valerie, of Denver and Loren and his wife, Lisa, of Denver; two sisters, Coleen Camilletti and her husband, Jocko, of Hayden and Floy Vogt and her husband, Tony, of Union City, Calif.; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends also will miss him.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be sent to the Yampa Valley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 776090, Steamboat Springs, CO 80477, to be put into a trust for Louden’s education.
