Emily Louise Cross was born April 13, 1916, in the Denver area and passed away May 14, 2001, at her home in Mesa, Ariz.

Her family moved to Steamboat Springs in 1937, where she attended school and graduated from the Steamboat Springs High School. She married Ray Cross Jan. 1, 1940, in Vernal, Utah.

They made their home in Steamboat Springs and California before settling in Rawlins, Wyo. She worked for the telephone company in Rawlins for close to 40 years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Rawlins, where she served as worthy Matron and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Her biggest passion was bridge.

For their retirement years, they chose to live in Mesa, Ariz.

She is survived by one brother, Albert Bruchez and wife Afton; four nieces and three nephews.

Her husband, Ray, preceded her in death.
