Elaine Dermody: Thank you Steamboat Pilot for hosting Longevity Project

A big thank you to Lisa Schlichtman and the Steamboat Pilot & Today staff for sponsoring the Longevity Project and all those that took the time to nominate a senior. I think I speak for many of us who were nominated, it was quite an honor but also a humbling experience reading about all the terrific seniors in Steamboat, and we all know others.

The write-ups were so inspiring. Any thoughts we might have had about slowing down and resting on our laurels are out the window. We need to stay active, keep giving back to our community and practicing healthy lifestyle habits as outlined in the “Blue Zones.” It certainly reminded us aging in place in Steamboat couldn’t be better.

Again, thanks to the editor and staff for all the hard work and, I’m sure, extra cost, for implementing this exciting project.
