Drunken man leaves hotel: The Record for Saturday, March 30

4:38 a.m.  Security at a hotel in the 2300 block of Mount Werner Circle asked a drunken man to leave. He got on a Steamboat Springs Transit bus and was seen getting off at a stop downtown. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were unable to locate him.

9:38 a.m.  A person found car keys in the area of Spring Creek Circle and Amethyst Drive.

2:07 p.m. Steamboat Fire Recue firefighters assisted someone having breathing difficulty at a business in the 2700 block of Downhill Plaza.

3:05 p.m. Yampa Valley Regional Airport firefighters responded to an elevator issue at the airport.

4:11 p.m. A business manager at a business in the 10 block of 10th Street reported that they believed an employee was stealing from the business. Officers took a report.

5:27 p.m. Steamboat firefighters responded to an elevator issue at a condominium complex in the 2200 block of Storm Meadows Drive.

6:41 p.m. Officers received a report of a car swerving and almost hitting parked cars in the area of Seventh Street and Lincoln Avenue. They were unable to locate the car.

7:06 p.m.  Steamboat firefighters investigated an odor at Ninth Street and the Yampa River Core Trail.

9:34 p.m. Steamboat firefighters were called to assist someone who was bleeding in the 20700 block of U.S. Highway 40.

9:34 p.m. Routt County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a person on suspicion of misdemeanor child abuse, criminal mischeif and third-degree assualt.

Total incidents: 47

  • Steamboat officers had 25 cases that included calls for service and officer-initiated incidents such as traffic stops.
  • Sheriff’s deputies had eight cases that included calls for service and officer-initiated incidents such as traffic stops.
  • Steamboat firefighters responded to 12 calls for service.
  • West Routt Fire Protection District firefighters responded to one call for service.
  • Yampa Valley Regional Airport firefighters responded to one call for service.
