Do or die games coming today, Saturday for Sailors girls basketball

— For the girls, the Western Slope League might be the toughest in the region.

And for the Steamboat Springs High School girls basketball team, there might not be two bigger games in the season than today’s and Saturday’s. Steamboat plays at 6 p.m. today at home against Moffat and at 4 p.m. Saturday at home against Glenwood Springs.

Moffat, Glenwood and Delta are tied atop the league standings, with Steamboat, at 8-7 overall and 3-2 in league, a game back.

“To say they’re very important is an understatement,” Steamboat coach John Ameen said. “But if we come out and play for four quarters and play our game, we have a tremendous chance of winning.”
