David Moss: Presidents as idiots

This letter is written in response to Bob Stevenson’s letter published in Thursday’s Steamboat Today. Mr. Stevenson properly takes offense to the Cal Thomas editorial published Wednesday, in which Thomas implied that President Barack Obama was an idiot using a quote from Shakespeare.

Unfortunately, Stevenson engages in the same behavior by stating, “I thought that some village in Texas was missing one of these,” meaning idiots during the George W. Bush presidency. Both statements are extremely disrespectful to the Office of the presidency and the occupants. Neither president is an idiot.

For anyone interested in moving beyond partisan name-calling, I strongly recommend Roger Cohen’s editorial on “Islam and the West at War” in Thursday’s edition of Steamboat Today.
