Dave Peregoy: Voting Republican will only make Trump’s behavior worse
When candidate Trump was running for president, he frequently used profanity and encouraged violence at his rallies. The recording of his now famous claim that he could sexually assault women was brushed aside as “locker room talk.”
The common thought was that if elected, he would become more “presidential.” Well that never happened, so now we’re left with a president and leader of the free world becoming more emboldened every day.
His almost daily mockery, name calling, misogyny and open racism have been elevated to levels unheard of by most Americans. This is mainly due to Republicans in office being unwilling or afraid to call him out on behavior that is not only unacceptable but un-American.
Many of us are left trying to explain to our kids and grandkids why he speaks more like a schoolyard bully than a president. This month, when you vote, please remember that a vote for pretty much any of the Republicans running for office will only make this behavior worse not better.
