Dan O’Brien: Traffic study needed for Pine Grove Road

I don’t care for community politics, but the approval of the Residence Inn at Marriot project warrants an opinion.
Traffic issues should make the project a non-starter. Period.
If Wells Fargo on Third Street were to sell their parking lot, would a development of this size be considered because of private property rights or would traffic be a concern?
Given Steamboat Springs history of using outside firms for consulting purposes, I propose a traffic study be done. I don’t see how any amount of “mitigation” could ease traffic loads in this section of Pine Grove Road. Painted lines on the roadway don’t mean much to winter visitors.
