STEAMBOAT SPRINGS– A female cyclist was transported to UCHealth Yampa Valley Medical Center for evaluation Friday morning after she was involved in a car-versus-bike collision.

The collision at the intersection of Third and Oak streets happened at a slow rate of speed, said Steamboat Springs Police Sergeant Shane Musgrave. The driver was issued a citation for failure to yield.

The woman was transported to the hospital because she had recently had surgery, and the incident caused pain to the affected areas.

Musgrave said there was minor damage to the bike and vehicle.
