Culvert projects closes Village Drive near the mountain

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — The city of Steamboat Springs has contracted Native Excavating to replace a culvert under Village Drive near the Wild Plum/Highmark and Village Center area. The project began Monday, Sept. 17, and will require Village Drive to be closed until Nov. 1, with the full project completed by Nov. 21.

Steamboat Springs Transit plans to reroute the Green Line (condo/night) bus traveling through the Mount Werner Circle/Après Ski Way roundabout, then up Après Ski Way, turning right onto Medicine Springs Road and back onto Village Drive. Passengers accessing the Highmark bus stop will need to use another stop as service at that location will not occur during the duration of the closure.

In addition to the Village Drive culvert project, the new Ski Time Square roundabout will be shifting its closures as Phase 1 transitions into Phase 2, which also runs from Sept. 17 to Nov. 1.
