Cow Creek road stretch closed for repairs

— The Routt County Road and Bridge Department will close a portion of Routt County Road 45 on the back (west) side of Emerald Mountain Sept. 20 and 21 to repair the culverts on Cow Creek that blew out during high snowmelt conditions in the spring of 2016.

The closure starts about one mile southeast of the intersection of Routt County Roads 33 and 45 and continues nearly to the Ridge Trailhead parking lot.

People can still access the Beall and Ridge trailheads during the work. They will have to access them from the southeast via C.R. 43, assistant Road and Bridge Director Mike Mordi said in a news release.
