County commissioner, assessor to present at property tax meeting Tuesday
A meeting regarding property tax rates in relation to increased property valuations is planned for 6 p.m. Tuesday at the historic Routt County Courthouse.
On Tuesday, Routt County Commissioner Tim Corrigan and County Assessor Gary Peterson will cover which special taxing districts are controlled by the Taxpayers Bill of Rights, also known as TABOR, as event organizers look to limit a “windfall of tax revenue” to local taxing authorities.
The meeting is being organized by the Business for Isness group. The meeting will be on the third floor of the old courthouse. Homeowners, commercial property owners and renters are all being encouraged to attend the event. For more info, call organizer Archie Lowe at 303-888-2390.
