Coroner identifies Oak Creek man killed while working on car

Routt County Coroner Rob Ryg has identified the Oak Creek man who was killed while working on his car Saturday as 58-year-old Scott Spickler.

Ryg said Spickler had been living in the area for nearly 20 years.

Spickler’s girlfriend found Spickler pinned under the classic roadster he was working on at his home on Willow Bend Court.

It is believed the car fell off jacks.

“It was a really neat old car, and he was going to bring it to a show in two weeks,” Ryg said.

Ryg said Spickler was likely killed instantly.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
