Beginning square dance class offered Fridays

The Green Ridge Mountaineers Square Dance Club is starting a new class for beginning square dancers at 7 p.m. Fridays at the Hayden Congregational Church. Classes are from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Jan. 23, Jan. 30 and Feb. 5. Call 879-3521 or 824-6062.

Sledding party Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m.

The Hayden Recreation Board will host a “family fun sledding party” from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the hill behind the elementary school. Drinks and cookies will be provided.

Totally Kids’ art class beginning again in Hayden

Totally Kids will start another semester of after school art classes in Hayden, which will feature different lessons than last semester’s classes. Susan Kohler will continue to teach the classes, which will be taught from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays depending on age, starting this week. Call Susan Kohler at 276-3780. The cost is $108.

LIFT-UP open in Hayden

on Mondays, Wednesdays

The Hayden LIFT-UP Emergency Assistance Office at the Solandt Medical Center is open from 4 to 6 p.m. Mondays and 9 to noon Wednesdays for Hayden residents in need of food or assistance.

Open riding continues through month of April

Open riding at the multi-purpose building at the Routt County Fairgrounds continues on weekends through April. Check the calendar at or call 276-3068 for more information. The cost is $5 for a two-hour session.

Senior friendship tea

will be held Jan. 31

A senior friendship tea will be held at 2 p.m. Jan. 31 at The Haven. Please sign up no later than Jan. 29. by calling Lindsay at 276-3741 or Kathy at 276-4484. The town of Hayden Recreation Board sponsors the tea.

Game day change for games against Paonia

The Hayden High School girls’ and boys’ basketball teams’ games with Paonia scheduled for Jan. 9 were changed to 4 and 5:30 p.m. Feb. 7. Paonia High School is building a new gym, which has not yet been completed.

Story hour held at library at 10 to 11 a.m. Thursdays

Preschool story hour is from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursdays at the Hayden Public Library. Call the library at 276-3777.
