Community Agriculture Alliance: Last call for seedling trees

Sarah Hagenbuch

Last call for seedling trees!! The seedling tree program will be over for this year on March 31 so get your applications in immediately! Applications can be picked up at our office located at 1475 Pine Grove Road, above the Steamboat Medical office, between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

There still are several species available including native cottonwood, aspen, coyote willow, native willow mix, lilac, serviceberry and caragana. The seedlings are grown in the Colorado State Forest Service Nursery in Fort Collins. They will arrive at the Pine Grove building on May 8 and be available for pick-up from noon to 4:30 p.m. in the south parking lot. Please be here for the pick-up, we do not “hold” trees.

The Colorado State Forest Service will be active again this spring in helping you and those you know with all your forestry needs. Currently we are working on community wildfire protection plans, gearing up for the upcoming fire season, putting together education material on the bark beetle epidemic and on fire awareness, and developing forest management plans for landowners.

Stop by our office any time to talk to your local foresters or give us a call at 970-879-0475. We have all kinds of answers for all kinds of questions!
