STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — Three vehicles — including a truck and livestock trailer, a semitrailer and an SUV — were involved in a crash Thursday morning on U.S. Highway 40 west of Milner.

The 24-year-old driver of a red Saturn Vue was traveling eastbound on U.S. 40 when he attempted to pass several cars in a designated passing lane. He lost control of the SUV and slid into the westbound lane, where he struck the sides of the other two vehicles, according to Colorado State Patrol Cpl. Jason Shimp. The driver of the SUV was cited.

No one was injured in the crash, but Shimp encouraged people to slow down during winter driving conditions.

Roads were snow packed and icy at the time of the crash.
