Colorado Springs crowd becomes vocal during Cory Gardner’s first solo town hall meeting in more than a year
Gardner has been targeted for months by activists for not holding in-person town halls
Spectators at U.S. Senator Cory Gardner’s first solo, in-person town hall meeting in more than a year shouted over the senator as he tried to answer the first question about health care.
When he asked about support for a single-payer system, he was greeted with boos and shouts and many raised hands. Four El Paso County Sheriff’s deputies attended the meeting.
One woman thanked Gardner for holding the town hall and urged spectators to remain calm. She told Gardner her mother who had pancreatic cancer was able to live longer thanks to coverage from Obamacare.
