Coffee and a Newspaper to host CC4E group

Steamboat Pilot & Today will host Coffee and a Newspaper from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 3 at the newspaper office, 1901 Curve Plaza. The topic will focus on the future of Steamboat schools.

The Community Committee For Education, or CC4E, will present the four options it has developed to renovate and expand school facilities. The group was formed following the November 2015 defeat of a $92 million school bond issue, and members have spent months developing options, with an eye toward placing a new issue on the ballot in November.

CC4E plans to present its recommendations to the school board May 8.

Coffee and a Newspaper is free and open to the community, and attendees are invited to bring their own lunches. The newspaper will provide beverages and cookies.
