STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — The 11th annual Cody’s Challenge at Steamboat Resort has opened its registration.

Cody’s Challenge will take place at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, April 6, at Steamboat Resort. The race raises money for the St. John Memorial Scholarship Fund and it’s the only ski mountaineering race in Steamboat Springs.

The Cody St. John Memorial Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to professional ski patrollers looking to continue their medical education. The race honors former Steamboat Resort ski patroller Cody St. John, who passed away from injuries sustained in a car accident.

The race welcomes all levels of competition and is considered a part of the United States Ski Mountaineering Association’s COSMIC series.

Noncompetitive racers will compete under the challenge category.

The preregistration cost of the race is $80, and day-of registration costs are $85. Register early at
