CMC students arrested on drug charges

— Two Colorado Mountain College students living in the dorms were arrested and booked into the Routt County Jail on drug charges Sunday morning, while Steamboat Springs police officers continue an investigation that could lead to more drug-related arrests on the campus.

William Morris Spears was arrested and booked at 2:45 a.m. He was charged with minor in possession of alcohol, possession of less than 1 ounce of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and manufacturing, according to police documents.

Ryan Patrick Eames was arrested and booked at 3:50 a.m. for possession of the psiocybin, possession of less than 1 ounce of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia, according to police documents.

Steamboat Springs Police Officer Nick Bosnick said he couldn’t comments on the arrests because an investigation was pending on the incident connected to Spears that could lead to more arrests.

He said Spears’ and Eames’ cases don’t appear to be related, but the investigation could show some connection.
