Club hosts Classic Car show

Free event by Steamboat Car club is on Sunday

— Classic car enthusiasts should make plans to stop by the Steamboat Classic Car Show and Parts Swap on Sunday.

Classic automobile owners from all over Northwest Colorado will be sharing their collections with the community.

The show is being organized by the Steamboat Car Club with help from Main Street Steamboat Springs. There are about 75 people connected with the local car club, and about a dozen cars are expected to show up from the Steamboat area.

The Steamboat Car Club routinely has shows, most notably the show that is associated with the Labor Day Air Fest. The club also travels to nearby areas such as Oak Creek and Craig to let others see their vehicles.

A small group of cars from Craig also is expected Sunday. In total, about two dozen cars are likely to be present.

In addition to the car show, there will be a parts swap where owners and collectors can buy, sell and trade any car-related items that they might take. Depending on the amount of pieces brought to the show, the car owners will keep their goods next to their vehicles or, if necessary, there will be a table set up for parts.

The event will be on Yampa Street between Sixth and Eighth streets. That section of the street will be closed so that visitors to the show may safely observe the cars. The show is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and admission is free.
