CMC president search down to two

After considering input from college faculty, staff and students, and community opinion gleaned from an online survey, the Colorado Mountain College Board of Trustees narrowed its list of five finalists for the position of college-wide president to two: Dr. Joe Forrester and Dr. Stanley Jensen.

Forrester worked for the college from 1989 to 1999 as Timberline Campus dean in Leadville. He is currently president of the Community College of Beaver County in Monaca, Pa.

For 19 years, Jensen has been president of a company that provides training in leadership development, team building, process improvement training and strategic planning to businesses, colleges and nonprofit organizations.

Berry named to Gonzaga Dean’s List

William Paul Berry, a 2007 graduate of Steamboat Springs High School, was among the 609 students named to the Gonzaga University Dean’s List for fall semester 2007. Students must earn a 3.5 to 3.69 GPA to be listed.

CMC offers free English classes

Free English as a Second Language, or Ingles como Segundo Idioma, have begun at Colorado Mountain College in Steamboat Springs. Classes for beginners, intermediate and advanced students are at 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Advanced students also can attend a 9:30 a.m. class Wednesdays. Meet in Willett Hall, Room 303.
