Hands graduates from Arizona State

Corinne K. Hands, a 2000 graduate of Steamboat Springs High School, recently graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies. She majored in communications and business. Hands was named to the university’s honor roll in each of her eight semesters there. She now works for Champ Systems in Portland, Ore.

Moody progressing toward dental degree

Jeannie Moody, a 1997 graduate of Soroco High School, recently completed her national boards, a step toward earning her DMD. Moody’s father, Rick Moody of Yampa, joined her during a White Coat Ceremony at the University of Florida College of Dentistry. Jeannie Moody plans to specialize in family dentistry.

Lindsey Smith to be honored at North Texas

Lindsey Elizabeth Smith of Steamboat Springs has accepted membership into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Smith will be honored during a campus ceremony this fall at the University of North Texas. The National Society of Collegiate Scholars is a highly selective, national and nonprofit honors organization.

Carlson makes dean’s list at West Point

Nissa Carlson, a 2001 graduate of Steamboat Springs High School, was named to the dean’s list at the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, N.Y., for the spring semester. Carlson plans to graduate from West Point in 2005, after which she’ll be commissioned as a second lieutenant. She is the daughter of Eric and Rita Carlson of Steamboat.
