Geldmeier named to dean’s list

Steamboat Springs

Meredith Geldmeier made the dean’s list for the fall 2003 semester at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has been accepted into the UNC school of journalism. Geldmeier is a 2002 graduate of Christian Heritage School and is the daughter of Warren and Jody Geldmeier of Steamboat Springs.

Hanson honored for her gerontology work

Jade Hanson of Oak Creek was honored during the University of Northern Colorado’s Academic Excellence Week as a top student in the school’s gerontology department. Faculty from each academic department chose their top students for the honor. Hanson is a 2001 graduate of Soroco High School and is the daughter of Clint and Nina Hanson of Oak Creek.

Travis named to the fall quarter dean’s list

Ross Travis of Steamboat Springs was named to the dean’s list at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Ga., for the fall quarter of 2003. Travis maintained a grade point average of 3.5 or higher to be included on the dean’s list. He is a media and performing arts major and the son of Judith Travis of Steamboat.

Fry will attend Student Leadership Conference

Steamboat Springs High School junior Cynthia Fry was among the students selected to participate in the National Student Leadership Conference. Fry will attend the conference’s Law and Advocacy Program. Students at the conference attend special workshops and classes where they study distinctions of leadership from special guest speakers, who often are top government and business officials. The program is designed to help students develop the ability to think on their feet, engage in critical analysis and communicate effectively.
