City of Steamboat reminds homeowners about right-of-way rules
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — As area homeowners begin working on spring landscaping projects, the city of Steamboat Springs would like to remind residents about right-of way-rules:
• City code restricts placing large landscape materials — such as berms, trees and boulders — within 10 to 15 feet of the street or within 15 feet of fire hydrants.
• The right-of-way area is typically 30 feet from the centerline of the street.
• Right-of-way permits are required and will be issued through Nov. 1. Permits are available through the streets superintendent at the Public Works shop, 850 Critter Court.
