City announces finalists for city manager position

The Steamboat Springs City Council has named seven finalists for its vacant city manager position.

The candidates include Gweorge Krawzoff, the city’s director of transportation services and the interim deputy city manager, and Elizabeth Black, the executive director fo the Yampa Valley Housing Authority.

The finalists:

Lee Evett, former city manager of Los Alamitos, Calif.

Steve Golnar, former city manager of Livingston, Mont.

Wendy DuBord, Steamboat’s longtime deputy city manager, is serving as the interim city manager. She has said she is not interested in being city manager.

Longtime City manager Paul Hughes announced last fall that he was stepping down, but he volunteered to remain on board until his replacement was hired. But in December, the City Council voted to terminate Hughes, saying it wanted a fresh start in 2006.
