Church seeking creche scenes for Dec. 8 Nativity festival

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is hosting a Nativity festival to kick off the Christmas season from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 at the church, 1155 Central Park Drive. The event is free and open to the public.

Attendees are invited to view an assortment of creche scenes, listen to Christmas music and enjoy appetizers and desserts. There will be musical performances and a visit from Santa at 7 p.m.

Event organizer Holly Weik said nativity scenes from all traditions and styles are welcome. Yampa Valley residents and visitors should bring their displays to the church for setup between 6 and 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7.
